Primal Green Assembly

Join the first Primal Green Assembly 7–8 April 2022 11:30am free and online. Primal Green, a new Berlin-based resource platform for sustainability in the arts, is pleased to launch with an assembly on the 7th and 8th of April. During the online event, independent artists, curators, and project spaces can learn about resources in Berlin and Germany that will help them achieve greater sustainability in their cultural production.

Speakers during the two-day program include Simone Kellerhof (Material Mafia), Yolanda Rother (The Impact Company), Hannah Beck-Mannagetta and Lena Fließbach (Curators of the Zero Waste exhibition), Kim Kraczon (Ki Culture), Jan Erdweg (Grüne Stadtlogistik), and Sandra Nicoline Nielsen (A New Kind of Blue), who will cover Berlin-specific topics including circular culture and design, waste and materials, diversity and inclusivity, exhibitions, and delivery and transportation, among others. Each has created a presentation specifically for Berlin-based practitioners, which will be screened and followed by a live Q&A. The final discussion of the event on Friday, April 8 at 1:15pm is a roundtable including Margarida Mendes and Edgar Cardenas Ph.D in conversation with philosopher and curator Dehlia Hannah. They’ll be taking a broader look at the current state of sustainability in cultural practices today.

About Primal Green

Primal Green supports independent cultural organizations and practitioners in implementing sustainable practices by gathering and offering resources within Berlin, German, and EU cultural sectors. Primal Green promotes self-regulation from within the arts through environmental literacy. The platform offers guides for individuals and organizations as well as approaches to inclusivity and diversity. We believe that sustainability should be accessible for all and seek to empower the community to take action.
