Open studios - Atelierhaus Seestr. 49 Wedding on 12./13. July
Cadavre Exquisit
An exhibition project at gr_und Gallery by and with artists from subsidized studio spaces that will be open in the same house.
The exhibition at gr_und is constructed according to the playful principle of the Surrealists. In a randomly determined order, 17 artists working in the house install their works individually, one after the other, in the space. No one knows the specific work of the others, and no one knows what will come after them. In this way, we curate a joint exhibition without curators, but with mutual trust, openness, intuition and a willingness to take risks (everything that Berlin's cultural policy lacks)
Open Studios on the upper floors of the historic office building:
The studio building on See-/Müllerstraße in Berlin-Wedding currently houses around 24 active artists from a wide variety of disciplines. In times of increasing displacement and studio shortages, we see this house as a valuable place for artistic production, encounter, and participation. We want to make the reality of artists visible (studio program in danger) and at the same time share our working environment with the neighborhood in order to draw attention to ourselves and the value of a progressive cultural policy. We cordially invite you to come in and experience our individual workshops and studios, where artistic works in various media are created here on Seestrasse: painting, sculpture, ceramics, video, installation and much more.
