Res Artis COVID-19 SURVEY 2 ON THE ARTS RESIDENCY SECTOR

Res Artis COVID-19 SURVEY I 2020

Take part in COVID-19 SURVEY 2: MEDIUM-TERM IMPACT ON THE ARTS RESIDENCY SECTOR

  • 54% of planned residencies cancelled, modified, cut short or postponed.
  • One in 10 or 9% of arts residency operators forced to close indefinitely.
  • Just 17% of respondents able to access emergency funding support.

Res Artis Organisation on its website: "By our very nature of facilitating quality international and national arts and cultural exchange, the field of arts residencies is one of the hardest hit.

Res Artis: Worldwide Network of Arts Residencies is partnering with UCL (University College London) to conduct this survey to assess the true impact of COVID-19 specifically on the arts residencies field. This survey is the second of three planned surveys to assess the effects of the pandemic on this sector. This set of questions focuses on the medium-term impact, and was designed based on the results of an earlier survey conducted in May.

You don’t need to be a Res Artis Member, affiliated with UCL, located anywhere specific, or have completed the first survey to participate. If you are an artistarts residency organisation or sector funder, please complete this survey so that Res Artis in partnership with UCL can advocate for support, much-needed resources and emergency funding on behalf of the sector. It will help us all, as a collective whole, gain a deeper understanding of the situation and how we might work together to rebuild and strengthen the field.

The survey below should take about 10 minutes of your time, but the results will be long-lasting.  Please submit your response by 11th January at 11:45 pm AEDT.  Thank you for contributing to this important research and data collection."
