On January 13, 2026, the Berlin University of the Arts announced the closure of all Master's programs at the Central Institute for Continuing Education and Transfer (ZIWT). An immediate admission freeze for the academic year 2026 initiated the dissolution of the MA Sound Studies and Sonic Arts program. The consequences could not be more dramatic!

Berlin thrives on unique artistic training options. Once dissolved, this established structure of knowledge transfer and artistic excellence cannot be restored! The quality of education offered by the program is internationally recognized and indispensable for Berlin's artistic scene.
