Code of Conduct of bbk berlin e.V.

1. Purpose

This Code of Conduct is intended to ensure that all participants in events organised by bbk berlin e.V. treat each other with respect, appreciation and responsibility.

2. Scope

The Code of Conduct applies to all participants in events, regardless of their role (member, board member, guest, moderator). It covers all comments, discussions, votes and informal exchanges within the framework of the event.

3. Desirable behaviour

We want to create a constructive and collegial atmosphere. This includes in particular:

•   Respectful and mindful communication

•   Active listening and constructive feedback

•   Clear and objective contributions to discussions

•   Consideration for speaking times so that everyone is heard

•   Openness to different opinions, perspectives and positions.

4. Undesirable behaviour

The following are particularly unacceptable:

•   Personal attacks, insults or disparaging remarks

•   Discriminatory or derogatory comments (e.g. based on gender, origin, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability)

•   Deliberately interrupting, shouting out loud, dominating or excluding other voices

•   aggressive, disrespectful or destructive contributions.

5. Procedure in the event of violations

The moderator or chair of the meeting shall ensure compliance with this code. In the event of violations, they may:

•   point out the behaviour,

•   admonish participants,

•   in serious cases, withdraw the right to speak. 

6. Reporting 

If participants feel uncomfortable or notice a violation, they can contact the moderator, chairperson or board confidentially at any time.

7. Closing remarks

With mutual respect and fairness, we create an atmosphere in which constructive discussions and joint decisions are possible.
