Committees and Networks

The bbk berlin is active in numerous associations, networks, and committees:

Berliner Kulturkonferenz (BKK)

The BKK is the largest alliance of Berlin's cultural associations with its own legal entity. Its main goal: Developing a cultural funding law for Berlin to represent interests vis-à-vis politics and administration.

Since October 2024, the BKK also manages #BerlinIstKultur, the joint campaign of Berlin's cultural scene against budget cuts.

From April 2025 to February 2026, the BKK organized a participation process to gather perspectives and positions from Berlin's cultural landscape on a potential cultural funding law. bbk berlin contributed the chapter "Visual Arts" (from p. 91). All results are available here:

Bündnis Freie Szene Berlin e.V. (BFSB)

The BFSB comprises Berlin associations and networks from the independent scene. It supports the coalition of the independent scene and its spokespersons' circle by initiating projects and securing funding.

Coalition of the Independent Scene (KdFS) and Spokespersons' Circle

The KdFS is the self-organized political advocacy group for all professional freelance artists and initiatives in Berlin. It represents cross-disciplinary cultural policy interests of the independent scene. The spokespersons' circle (SK) coordinates the work, including representatives from sector associations and independents.

Jour Fixe Bildende Kunst

This is an exchange format with the Senate Department for Culture and Europe. Besides bbk berlin e.V., it includes representatives from the Working Group Municipal Galleries Berlin (https://kgberlin.net/) and the Network of Independent Berlin Project Spaces and Initiatives (https://www.projektraeume-berlin.net/verein/).

 

Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft e.V. (KuPoGe)

KuPoGe is a network of around 1,500 culturally and politically engaged individuals and organizations from cultural policy/administration, practice, academia, art, education, socioculture, and journalism.
It advocates for publicly accountable, democratic cultural policy across all levels – securing cultural diversity, artistic freedom, and broad access to art and culture.
