Invitation to found the working group Antifascism

We invite you to the meeting of the bbk berlin to found the working group Antifascism on 28.11.2023.

We note: Whether in parliaments or in public discourse, right-wing forces are continuing to gain strength on a massive scale and are very threatening, especially for marginalized groups. We are following the latest election results and poll figures for the AfD, and we are once again confirmed that these forces are already deeply rooted "in the middle of society" and are having a toxic effect. In cultural policy and in parliament, the AfD's speeches and amendments also bear witness to a concept of art and culture that we at the bbk berlin are resolutely opposed to.

We therefore invite you to a meeting on November 28 at 6 pm in the Academie Lounge, Köthener Str. 44, 10963 Berlin. We would like to exchange ideas about strategies that we as artists can use against right-wing forces. At best, these can be imaginative, colorful and intersectional and thus represent a break with the social status quo.

We have invited the "Mobile Beratung gegen Rechtsextremismus Berlin (MBR)" as well as artists and activists to share their experiences with us and point out links to existing structures. The MBR has been advising for many years on how to deal with hostility from the right against artists, the disruption of socially critical events and the appropriation of historical dates and places. In its input, the MBR will begin with an overview of the ongoing cultural struggle from the right, its strategies, manifestations and challenges.
